Buccaneer Region SCCA - Around Again Rally

We are excited to announce our latest road rally for the 2026 Buccaneer Region SCCA Road Rally Championship! So far in our series, the rally route instructions have contained street names, increment mileage, and CASTs for every instruction and have been classified as as Tour style rally. This time we're changing it up and introducing particpants to the concepts of main road (a.k.a. Principal Road) style instructions with a Course style TSD. Instead of having street names and speeds for every turn, you'll have instructions that will read "Left at 4th opportunity." From the SCCA NRRRs regarding Principal Road:
The principal road is the obvious continuation through an intersection of the road upon which you are traveling. At some intersections this principal road may be determined by pavement surface continuity, a curve warning sign, the center line on the pavement, the placement of a stop sign or a yield sign, the continuation of multiple lanes in your direction of travel (such as when you are upon a limited access highway), straight as possible, etc.

Each car will drive on paved public roads using a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Richta Road Rally mobile application. Participants will be scored based on their arrival time at each of the defined checkpoints. We will start at a fast food restaurant in Macclenny, FL where cars will depart 1 minute apart. The finish will be a sit down restaurant, also in Macclenny, where scoring, awards, and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your own food, we encourage everyone to eat and support the location).

Any car is allowed, such that it meets all Florida state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum requirements. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seatbelts in the vehicle, but each car is required to have at least 2 people, a driver and a navigator. Drivers without a navigator will not be allowed to participate. There will be a starting location, five (5) unmanned checkpoints, followed by a sixth checkpoint at the finishing location. Team numbers will be assigned but the starting order will be determined at random.

There are three available classes for this rally: Stock, Limited and Seat of Your Pans. Visit scca.com for official class descriptions and rules. Below are some examples of the types of setups used in each class.

Stock: Using your vehicle's stock trip/odometer, smartphone as a calculator, and a stopwatch (perhaps the same or another smartphone). This is the most common class and recommended for novices.
Limited: Using the car’s built in navigation system to show distance traveled, a 3rd party GPS tracking system via mobile app (i.e. Richta Odometer, Maps, or a Odometer/Trip app), as long as that information isn’t transferable to the calculating device (i.e. can't be the same smartphone running the app and calculations).
SOP: Just your odometer, pens/pencils, stopwatch, and gut instincts. No calculator of any kind.

Starting Location: Burger King (1620 S 6th St, Macclenny, FL 32063; arrive early for breakfast!)
Finishing Location: Sixth Street Steakhouse (1199 S 6th St, Macclenny, FL 32063)
Registration Fee: $25 for SCCA members, $50 for non-SCCA members (weekend membership required)
Estimated Duration: 93 miles, 2-2.5hrs in duration, breaks are allowed along the way at your leisure.
Required Equipment: Dedicated smart phone with Richta Competitor mobile app, cannot be used while the rally is active. Download at https://richtarally.com/
Recommended Equipment: Clipboard, pencils/pens, highlighters, stopwatches (smartphone ok), calculator, secondary (and/or 3rd) smartphone
